Dental implants can be used to replace a single tooth or for multiple missing teeth. Restoring the tooth root prevents further issues and complications, provides support to facial structure and protects the gum.

At Smile Suffolk, we provide single and multiple implant options:

Single Implants

Single implants are used when you are missing one tooth, whether as a result of trauma, accident or extraction. When in place with a crown affixed to the top, the tooth is strong, secure and blends perfectly with your smile. Single implants are a very successful dental procedure, especially when carried out by our highly skilled and experienced clinicians.

Multiple Implants

If you need to replace a full arch of upper or lower teeth, we can do this securely and confidently with multiple dental implants. They are seen as superior to dentures, and are significantly more stable and comfortable to wear.

A full arch bridge of replacement teeth is fixed into place and supported by four or six implants, precisely planned to be in the most optimum positions in the mouth. Once healed, you can speak and eat with full confidence once more.

We can also use implants to anchor dentures, giving more support and stability. The dentures feel stronger and more secure, and will not slip or wobble, or cause irritation in the mouth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dental implants are strong titanium posts placed into your jawbone that act as artificial tooth roots. They fuse with the bone (osseointegration) and provide a durable base for a crown, bridge, or denture.
Yes, whether you’re missing a single tooth or several, dental implants can be used. Single implants are ideal for replacing a single tooth, while multiple implants can support full fixed arches or stabilise dentures.
A single implant supports a crown that blends seamlessly with your smile, offering strength, security, and natural appearance. It also helps maintain facial structure and gum health.
Multiple implants can support a fixed bridge or an implant-retained denture. Full-arch restoration often uses four to six precisely placed implants for optimal stability and function.
Yes, this advanced approach allows you to have implants and temporary teeth fitted in a single appointment. You leave with a functional, natural-looking smile on the same day.
Smile Suffolk includes a free consultation with a care coordinator, free assessment & CT scan (valued at £263), and free reviews at 3 and 12 months post-treatment.
Implants are far more stable and comfortable than traditional dentures. They look and feel like natural teeth, eliminating issues such as slipping or irritation.
Implants support the jawbone and facial structure, preventing bone loss and sunken facial features. They also help maintain gum health by filling gaps left by missing teeth.
Most people in good general and oral health are suitable candidates. Smile Suffolk’s team evaluates each patient thoroughly to develop a personalised and successful treatment plan.
The implant journey typically includes:
  • Initial consultation and diagnostics (including X-rays and possibly a CT scan)
  • Surgical placement of implants with temporary restorations
  • A healing phase (usually 3–6 months), allowing for osseointegration
  • Final placement of crowns, bridges, or dentures, followed by review appointments to ensure satisfaction and success
