Dr. Senthil Thiagarajan, a dedicated dental professional with a passion for enhancing smiles, has been actively involved in the field since his qualification in 2000. He began his journey by serving as a Senior House Officer in the Oral & Maxillofacial surgery departments of various London Hospitals, gaining valuable clinical experience.

Professional Experience

Mr. Prabhu serves as a Locum Oral Surgery Consultant at Ipswich Hospital, handling a full-time post. His responsibilities encompass the management of outpatient clinics, and conducting a wide array of oral surgical procedures both under local and general anaesthesia independently. Notably, he performs over 1200 Minor Oral Surgery procedures under local anaesthesia/intravenous sedation and over 500 dento-alveolar cases under general anaesthesia annually. He is actively involved in the treatment of patients undergoing complex facial surgery and prosthetic rehabilitation of head and neck cancer patients, including dental implants. Mr. Prabhu plays a pivotal role in the triaging of department referrals from GP’s and GDP’s and manages facial trauma and inpatients both surgically and medically.

Teaching and Supervision

Mr. Prabhu is a Clinical Supervisor for Junior Trainees in the Department of Oral Surgery at Ipswich Hospital. He actively contributes to the Ipswich Hospital Post Graduate Centre, organizing and lecturing for local dentists.

Pat Popat is a registered Dental Hygienist & Therapist and works in Specialist referral and general dental practices across Essex, Hertfordshire & Suffolk with a wealth of experience within the dental field. He started his career as a Dental Nurse and was invited back to become a tutor for dental nurses. Pat was then offered the position of Course Director & Lead Tutor for Dental Nurse Training at The Ipswich Hospital and has since become an Examiner for the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses.

Pat also serves on charity missions with Dentaid in Uganda providing pain relief clinics within a team of other medical and dental professionals.

Pat is also a facial aesthetics practitioner providing treatment for facial wrinkles and skin rejuvenation. From botulinum toxin injections, dermal fillers and full non-surgical face lifts. Pat is award-winning and highly sought after.

Pat won the “Best Treatment of a Nervous Patient” at the Dental Hygiene and Therapy Awards in 2014 and was a finalist for Best Hygienist. After having her 3 daughters, Louise joined dentistry due to having a long-spanning interest in the field. Louise began working with Senthil over a decade ago, who sparked her interest in implants and laser treatment, they continue to work together to develop and carry out complex procedures and treatments. Her main goal is to support patients and be a friendly face in their journey at the practice.

During her time at Smile Suffolk, she has worked alongside various clinicians and continues to do so whilst working part-time on reception. She enjoys spending time with her close friends and family, as well as reading, sewing and paddle boarding.

Outside of work she is a black belt in kickboxing and enjoys teaching the sport. Sian enjoys travelling, music and spending time with her family, friends, and pet dog Ziggy.

Patrycja joined the team at Smile Suffolk as a trainee dental nurse in March 2024. She qualified as a dental hygienist in Poland after completing a master’s degree in Experimental Biology at Maria Curie Skodowska University in 2019. Patrycja enjoys all aspects of dentistry.

Outside of work Patrycja loves cooking and travelling, and is passionate about photography.

Tracey started her career as a dental nurse over 30 years ago, in the very same building as Smile Suffolk is now. Over the years she has built an excellent relationship with many of our patients, which she feels helps to relax them throughout their experience at the practice.

She enjoys all aspects of dentistry but is particularly interested in oral surgery and implants, in recent years Tracey was and sometimes still is one of our friendly front of house team where she delivers excellent customer service. This led to promotion in December 2022 to the position of Practice manager, where she will continue to develop customer service to a high standard, building a friendly team and implementing strategies to help the practice grow.

Outside of work, Tracey has 2 grown up children and loves family time. She also enjoys socialising with her many friends, reading, cooking, and walking which she does every weekend.
